MALAWI – Malawi is a small, landlocked country in southeast Africa. It is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” with a population of over 16 million. It is among the worlds least-developed countries, and relies heavily on outside aid. This beautiful country has worked hard to make changes and empowering and educating children is a key to their future. There is an estimated 800,000 orphans in Malawi due to HIV/Aids, famine and other causes, who need shelter, nutrition, education and love. Kusewera is working to do what we can to empower these kids and young adults through various projects in Malawi. We work with children in the villages Chitipi area of Lilongwe at villages, schools and at the community center.
These humanitarian trips include daily morning and afternoon clinics with the kids, team building exercises, a little exploring of the city as well as some down time in the evenings. These trips are not a time to just hang out for a week. We expect volunteers to be team players and be ready to serve!
